There’s no safety in numbers . . .
Eve Singer needs death. With her career as a TV crime reporter flagging, she’ll do anything to satisfy her ghoulish audience.
The killer needs death too. He even advertises his macabre public performances, where he hopes to show the whole world the beauty of dying.
When he contacts Eve, she welcomes the chance to be first with the news from every gory scene. Until she realizes that the killer has two obsessions.
One is public murder.
And the other one is her . . .
My thoughts
I borrowed this from my local Library. I have read other books by this Author and have enjoyed them, this one was no different.
This book kept me up reading one night when I was wanting to know more, so addictive was it's power that I was completely sucked in by it. Sadly, I had too many pages left to finish it that night. Thankfully it didn't give me sleepless nights. I was on a deadline to finish it as someone else had reserved it from the Library, but I was gripped and knew that the deadline would not be an issue at all.
I enjoyed this book by Belinda Bauer every bit as much as the previous books that I have read by her. It was a well written page turner, that kept me guessing I had ideas where I thought it might take me, but I was wrong. This is quite a graphic story at times and not for the faint hearted at all.
Eve Singer craves crime and enjoys her job as a TV crime reporter, her love of her job and the need she has for popularity and publicity might be the downfall of her as she is always looking for the next BIG story.
The killer is very similar in many ways to Eve, he to craves popularity and publicity of his murders.
As the lives of Eve and the killer become interlinked, might Eve herself find that she is the NEXT BIG story as their obsessions with what they do reach a mutual culmination!
If you enjoy books that keep you up into the early hours reading when you should be sleeping then this is the book for YOU.
