The Big Bad Office Wolf (Kings of the Tower #1) by May Sage

From Goodreads

After the night of her life with a dirty, sexy stranger who’s supposed to live a world and a half away from her, Tori is feeling pretty damn smug - until she finds him in the office next door.

Bryant is a menace, making every woman in the entire building lose focus, but she never thought he would actually go after her assistant.

Determined to save the poor girl from his clutches, she confronts him, and finds herself thrust in a world she never knew existed.

Bryant should stay away from the sweet little prim and proper thing wrapped in designer suits, but he’s had a taste and he can’t seem to forget it. He knows there’s no way he can even pretend to be satisfied with a vanilla relationship. Good thing that when the clothes and the attitude come off, Tori might very well be a sub. All he needs is to lead her down the rabbit hole…

Disclaimer: The big bad office wolf is a very steamy romance, more so than most of my books. As the description suggests, it also includes some BDSM element. Spare panties recommended.

My thoughts

I grabbed a free copy of this from Amazon back in 2019.  The book has been loitering on my Kindle ever since, as I was grazing through my Kindle and deleting books that I had read, I came across it and thought I would read it.

I gave this a 3 stars or 6/10.  This is the first in the Kings of the Tower series by this Author.  Whilst there are returning characters in the series they can be read as standalones in my opinion.  I felt that after having read this one, that I had read sufficient to not need to read the others in the series.

This was a quick read of just over 220 pages, the last 20 or so pages being the start of the next book in the series which I didn't read as I felt that I had read enough of the series in the first book.

There is a disclaimer which I found quite amusing if I am honest, whilst there are a few passages in the story that are quite steamy and other passages where BDSM features , the story is not littered with them.  The story is quite character driven in my opinion rather than out and out action of a sexual nature, which is quite a change for some stories in this genre.

I enjoyed reading about the developing relationship between Bryant and Tori.  Bryant did like to take charge in more ways than one and Tori was turning into quite a willing participant despite her initial apprehension of what he had in store for her.
