From Goodreads

Two serial killers have been getting away with murder for years. For them, it's a well-paid hobby while they bide their time. It's about to stop when everything slots into place for them to leap to the next level. Payback for the people who killed their parents.

Lambeth Group investigator, Gavin Shawlens, is on their trail. But all is not as it seems and he is pushed way out of his depth when the killers turn on his family. Gavin's Lambeth Group partner, Zoe Tampsin, is cut off from him and fighting her own battle to stay alive.

They need to connect but Zoe will face an impossible choice. Stop the killers before they pull off the most audacious murder that will shock the world and change it forever. Or, rescue Gavin's family from the jaws of evil.

My thoughts

My thanks to the Author and TBConFB for a copy of this in exchange for an honest review. I gave this a solid 4 stars or 8/10.

Having previously read Tabula Rasa by Gordon Bickerstaff, that introduced me to the world of the Lambeth Group, I knew that I was going to be in for a treat reading this one. I'm happy to say it didn't disappoint at all.

From the first to the last page, the story was full of action that could so easily sit among the covers of an Ian Fleming book. Whilst, the characters might not be quite as suave and dapper as James Bond due to them being modern day characters as opposed to the James Bond in Fleming's books set in the past, they are every bit good enough to fit in his shoes despite the fact that the main protagonist Zoe is female.

Zoe is at the heart of the action, despite trying to keep under the radar of certain people as she fears for her life. As people close to her go missing, it's soon down to her to help find them and thwart the baddies in the process. With a complex plotline that involves two female Korean serial killers, with their own agenda who find it very easy to disappear in plain sight. Can Zoe and Gavin escape unscathed or will they suffer at the hands of the Koreans?

Whilst, this is part of a series it can so easily be read as a standalone, but please read the others in the series as they so deserve your time and if you don't you're only going to miss out.
