'Kim Nash writes with humour, heart and reality.' Nicola May, Author of The Cockleberry Bay series
When thirty-four-year-old Nellie Wagstaff loses her job and discovers her fiancĂ© is a cheating scumbag in a single day, she feels like the world has come crashing down. And that’s before the solicitor’s letter, along with a request to visit a place she hasn’t thought about for a very long time.
Heartbroken, Nellie escapes to the beautiful seaside town of Muddleford in Dorset, where she discovers she’s inherited more than she ever bargained for. Nellie never knew why her mother stopped talking to her sister, but now childhood memories of Muddleford come flooding back: long hot summers, the sea glistening beyond the sandy cove... and a stolen kiss with a boy called Jack.
Nellie will never know why her mother and aunt parted ways. She’ll sell the house, forget about Jack, and get back to real life. Because there’s nothing for her in Muddleford... is there?
My thoughts
I grabbed a copy of this last year (2021) when it was on offer from Amazon on Kindle. This is the first book that I have read by Kim Nash, I have a copy of Amazing Grace via NetGalley to read and a copy of Sunshine and Second Chances also from Amazon.
I have no idea at all why I have let this book sit for so long on my Kindle to be read pile. It was a lovely tale with just the right amount of romance and feel good emotions to keep you engaged with the story and the characters. I enjoyed it and look forward to reading more of this perfect escapism from this Author, hopefully I won't leave it too long before I read another book by her.
This book is the perfect read to immerse yourself in to escape from your day to day life, you will immerse yourself in the lives of Jack, Nellie, Natalie and the rest of the residents of Muddleford. Their lives at times can be quite intense and interwoven with each other, who will ultimately end up with one another?
