Bouquet Toss (Love of my Life #1) by Melissa Brown

Bouquet Toss by Melissa Brown

From Goodreads

Note: Although these books are part of a series, they do not need to be read in order.

Ever since Daphne Harper graduated from college, all of her friends have fallen in love, become engaged and walked down the aisle. Be it a blessing or a curse, Daphne (a hopeless romantic and perpetual single girl) catches the bouquet at every single wedding she attends.

Daphne’s love life is a mess. Her first love, Mayson, haunts her heart and keeps her from pursuing happiness with any man who comes along. As she struggles to move on from the one who got away, Daphne wonders if she will ever break her curse and find her happily ever after.

My thoughts

This was very reminiscent of the easy reading romances I used to read years ago and was a quick easy read. I got this as a freebie e-book read via Amazon.

This is definitely a good read as an in between book among heavier reads or when you're looking for a read that doesn't need a lot of concentration and can be easily picked up and left.

Well written this story tells the tale of Daphne who has an uncanny knack of collecting wedding bouquets once the bride has tossed them. To her it's the bane of her life as most of the time it happens when she has no romantic interest in tow.

A chance meeting at a friend's wedding between Daphne and a past lover of hers Mayson, leads to an awakening between them of what they used to have. Daphne has never recovered from her love of Mayson during her college life. As often happens in these stories life has an uncanny way of never running smoothly. She also met Tanner one of the groomsmen, who was sidelined a little upon her seeing Mayson.

If you want to find out whether Mayson or Tanner get the girl, read the story to find out. Please be aware that this is one of a series but it can easily be read as a standalone too, which is what I plan to do.

I gave this a 6/10 as I quite enjoyed it for the escapism that it provided.
