Before It Ends with Us, it started with Atlas. Colleen Hoover tells fan favorite Atlas’s side of the story and shares what comes next in this long-anticipated sequel to the “glorious and touching” (USA TODAY) #1 New York Times bestseller It Ends with Us.
Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil co-parenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date.
But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life—and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life.
Switching between the perspectives of Lily and Atlas, It Starts with Us picks up right where the epilogue for the “gripping, pulse-pounding” (Sarah Pekkanen, author of Perfect Neighbors) bestselling phenomenon It Ends with Us left off. Revealing more about Atlas’s past and following Lily as she embraces a second chance at true love while navigating a jealous ex-husband, it proves that “no one delivers an emotional read like Colleen Hoover” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author).
My thoughts
I grabbed a copy of this from my local Library. This is the sequel to It Ends with Us that I read without realising that there was a sequel to it, I am so glad that I didn't read it when it first came out or else I would have been left hanging before being able to read this one.
This continues on with the love triangle between Lily, Ryle and Atlas. As Lily and Ryle are settling into some form of normality following having split up, they are getting used to the joint responsibilities of sharing the caring of their young daughter.
I enjoyed this roller coaster of a ride that the three lead characters found themselves on. Ryle had his reasons for not being overly happy when Lily began seeing Atlas, they all had a past that was better left there, but sadly that wasn't going to happen was it?
Ryle wasn't a great partner at all, he was like a leopard he was never going to change his spots and turn over a clean slate. Some people will never change and he was one of those young men, he was too set in the ways of abusing his partner. How will he deal with the life that Lily has found herself in with Atlas?
Will life end well for this trio, to find out you need to grab a copy of the book. What are you waiting for?
