My thoughts
As with a lot of books that I tend to read, I am not sure how I come across them. Sometimes I see a post on Facebook or a tweet on Twitter from someone and this is one of those times. So having come across it somewhere, I reserved or grabbed a copy from BorrowBox the digital lending side of my local Library.
Freezing people with incurable illnesses in the hope that if a cure comes along then they will be brought back to life in the future in order to benefit from the cure. What a great idea, Laura Henley and her brother are siblings with a rare form of cancer, frozen as children in the hope that they might benefit from future advancements in medicine. Laura is brought back to life in order to benefit from the cure. What she can't cope with is that the world has moved on since she was frozen, everything has changed. How will she cope in the changed world since she was brought back to life? Will the cure benefit her? What has happened to her brother? These are all questions that need answering.
Wow, this was so nearly a full on 5 stars, but the first half of it I wasn't so sure at all of the story, then the second half oh my! This is such a thought provoking read, it sure makes you think about what may happen in the future and to what lengths some people would go to, in order to achieve what they set out to do. There is so much that could be said, but you need to read it for yourself in order to see what I am talking about.
I look forward to reading More of Me, the first book that Kathryn Evans wrote and it's already reserved for me at the local Library, if it's as good as this one is then I will definitely be in for a treat.
