The Golden Locket (Unbreakable Trilogy #2) by Primula Bond

From Goodreads

The second novel in the Unbreakable Trilogy, The Golden Locket follows Gustav and Serena to New York.

Ensconced in their Manhattan penthouse, all seems blissfully happy for Gustav and Serena. Still in the first flush of love, they have every satisfaction they could need.

But as they enjoy their New York pleasure ground, ghosts start to emerge from Gustav’s past, and when his damaged younger brother, Pierre, comes back into his life, he brings with him a dangerous threat…

With temptation waiting at every turn, can Gustav and Serena survive all the excitement that the Big Apple holds?

The sexy sequel to Primula Bond’s Sunday Times Top 20 bestseller, The Silver Chain. Perfect for fans of erotic romance.

My thoughts

Thank goodness for Goodreads.  I had copied my review over to Goodreads and so I am able to post a new review of this book again.  Note to self, when deleting posts from my blog make sure that you delete the right post!

I like many others who enjoyed The Silver Chain the first in this series, were asked if we would be interested in reading this second instalment in the Unbreakable Trilogy in advance of the release date in order to review it but not to release our reviews until the release date.  How could I refuse as I'd enjoyed the first instalment and I was keen to see how the relationships between Gustav and Serena, and Pierre and Polly developed.

The relationship between Gustav and Serena steps up a gear but Pierre has plans of his own to thwart the course of true love or should that be lust between them.  When Gustav presents Serena with the locket it replaces the bond of the chain, it rattles but she is warned not to open it.  Pierre and Polly's relationship doesn't run quite as smoothly and it's very obvious that Pierre has demons that he needs to conquer.

Serena's many photographic assignments broaden and heighten her sexual awareness and take her from a Gentlemen's club in New York culminating in a masked ball in Venice.

I really enjoyed this second book and found that the deepening relationship between Gustav and Serena was authentic and went deeper than just the sexual attraction.  I found the continuing story well written and moved along at a nice pace.  If you enjoy erotic romance then I'm sure that you'll enjoy this trilogy and I eagerly await the final instalment.

I received this as an ARC via NetGalley and the Publishers in exchange for an honest review.  I gave this a 4 stars or 8/10.
