Brand New Year by Kat Bastion

From Goodreads

Multiple award-winning author Kat Bastion returns with a standalone romantic comedy novelette, the perfect feel-good escape.

Avery Benson imprinted into her mind an amazing experience she would never allow again.

For in the thirty-fifth year of her life, at the stroke of midnight New Year’s Eve, she’d undertaken an adventure. Guided by a resolution of monumental proportions. One that made kicking a habit, losing weight, or getting organized mere child’s play.

Her bold resolution in that brand-new year? A brand-new her.

But… How far should we go to redefine ourselves?

My thoughts

I am not sure how I came across this story.  I gave this short story a 3.5 stars or 7/10.

It was a short story about a developing romance between Avery and Jasper.  With this being a short story there isn't much to say without giving too much of the story away.

Avery is single and 35, she realises that she is not getting any younger and as a new year is about to start she decides to make a few changes to her life.  She doesn't realise how big a change to her life she might be about to make as she walks into a new coffee store.

This a well written short story with a touch or more of romance at it's heart.  I wanted more ....
