I gave this a 2 stars or 4/10.
This was a freebie read. It's a short story and is the first of five short stories, which precede the Highland Legends series.
Not having read any of the Highland Legends series, I didn't have any of the back story to this short story and whilst it was well written as are all the stories that I've read by this Author & Stone Bastion, I did find it a little bit confusing and due to it being short there was not enough of a story to get your teeth into. It left me wanting more, but due to the cost of the other short stories which I find quite expensive considering their size sadly I won't be reading any more of them.
I am however quite tempted to read Forged in Dreams and Magick (Highland Legends, Book 1). Watch this space so to speak, as you might see a review of it in the future.
