From Goodreads
Charlie and her
roommates along with their friends could have never imagined that, after
the birthday party of the night before, their morning would take a
twisted turn with a macabre discovery: a box containing the head of a
stranger.
Because of their different personalities and also because
of another unfortunate event, they can't decide on the right way to deal
with it.
Their disagreement ultimately triggers heated arguments and
unsuspected passions. And as the story unfolds, the strain of their
situation will take their relationship with one another to the very
edge.
Yet most shocking will be the answer to the main question that
is on everyone's mind: who is the man whose head ended up in the box
and... who brought the box into their apartment?
My thoughts
I give this a 2.5 stars or 5/10.
My thanks to NetGalley and the Publishers for the opportunity to read this story in exchange for an honest review.
We've all had one of those nights were we can't remember what we did the night before when we've been out drinking.
But, for one group of friends and roommates the nightmare was much worse for them. They wake up in the morning following one of those nights, when they'd all drunk too much and partied hard to find the head of someone in a box.
Whose head is it and where has it come from? The questions are endless. Locked in an apartment building with no way in and no way out as the outer doors are locked shut.
To be honest it's a while ago since I read this short story and I can't remember too much about it. I do know that I wasn't overly impressed with it. The writing style didn't grab me and I have to say I found it all a little tedious and hard going.
I did love the premise though. As how would any of us cope with a discovery like that after a night of partying and drinking?
