Say My Name (Stark International #1) by J.Kenner

Say My Name (Stark International Trilogy, #1)

From Goodreads

New York Times bestselling author J. Kenner kicks off a smoking hot, emotionally compelling new erotic trilogy that returns to the world of her beloved Stark novels: Release Me, Claim Me, and Complete Me. Say My Name features Jackson Steele, a strong-willed man who goes after what he wants, and Sylvia Brooks, a disciplined woman who’s hard to get—and exactly who Jackson needs.

I never let anyone get too close—but he’s the only man who’s ever made me feel alive.

Meeting Jackson Steele was a shock to my senses. Confident and commanding, he could take charge of any room . . . or any woman. And Jackson wanted me. The mere sight of him took my breath away, and his touch made me break all my rules.

Our bond was immediate, our passion untamed. I wanted to surrender completely to his kiss, but I couldn’t risk his knowing the truth about my past. Yet Jackson carried secrets too, and in our desire we found our escape, pushing our boundaries as far as they could go.

Learning to trust is never easy. In my mind, I knew I should run. But in my heart, I never felt a fire this strong—and it could either save me or scorch me forever.

Say My Name is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

From the Trade Paperback edition.

My thoughts

My thanks to the Publishers and NetGalley for the oppotunity to read this story in exhange for an honest review. I gave this an 8/10.

I'd never heard of J.Kenner until I saw this book on NetGalley. I'm a fan of erotic themed books so I spied my chance and requested it, fortunately I was accepted and I'm glad that I was. This is the first book in a trilogy based on a secondary character who appears in the Stark trilogy. Whilst, I would have had a back story to Jackson and Sylvia, I didn't feel that by not having read the trilogy that my enjoyment of this book was in any way impaired.

Sylvia and Jackson have a shared past, they spent a couple of days together but she asked him to leave. Sylvia works for Damian Stark now a wealthy businessman & entrepreneur, part of his business is involved in real estate, she is tasked with being in charge of a major venture overseeing the development of an island creating a new holiday resort. As they lose a key member of the design team, she has to make a decision she'd rather not have to make, to contact Jackson with a view to getting him on board as part of the team. Jackson is a prolific Architect and his work is well sought after.

As Sylvia sets to on a course of action to try to recruit Jackson, he has certain things on his mind and plans of his own. As their paths cross once again they both have secrets of their own that will have a bearing on how they deal with the situation that they might soon see themselves thrown into both professionally and socially. Sylvia feels that the future of the resort will be in jeopardy if Jackson isn't on board, but is she prepared to go to the lengths he wants her to go to in order to secure his help.

I really enjoyed this story, I loved the relationship between Sylvia and Jackson. I felt that they both wanted their heads banging together at times, as I so wanted them to become a couple. I raced through this story in two days and to me that's the sign of a good story it held my attention and I wanted to read more and more.

Whilst it's marketed as an adult erotic read, there's more to it than that. I eagerly await the next one, to see what fate and the Author have in store for Sylvia and Jackson.
