Love, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
From Goodreads
This book is the much anticipated sequel to the New York Times bestselling book, Stargirl and centers around "the world's longest letter" in diary form. It picks up where the previous novel left off after Stargirl left Mica High and describes her bittersweet memories in the town of Mica, Arizona along with the involvements of new people in her life.
In Love, Stargirl, we hear the voice of Stargirl as she reflects on time, life, Leo, and - of course - love.
My Review
This is a great follow up to Stargirl. In this book Stargirl has moved from Arizona and has left Leo her boyfriend behind.
Told as a year long letter in Stargirls' voice to Leo in diary form, this relates the happenings of Stargirl during that year. As we have come to expect Stargirl surrounds herself with some quirky friends and takes on the role of big sister to little Dootsie, who's an adorable young girl. I read the last few pages set around the Winter Solstice with an odd tear in my eye, if you've read the book you might know what I mean.
A great YA read which can be read by young and old alike.
