My thoughts
Please note that there is a spoiler alert, which is only mentioned to warn people of the nature of one minor aspect of the story.
This was a random read from my local Library. It is the first book that I have read by this Author and I will be looking to read more by her in the future. This has been translated by Victoria Cribb from another language as Yrsa Sigurdardottir is from Iceland and writes in her own language.
I gave the story a 3.5 stars or 7/10.
**SPOILER ALERT**
**Please be aware that there is a minor element of sexual child abuse contained within the story, so you might want to consider that side of things before embarking on the book. Please note that this is not graphic and is mentioned as having happened.**
As a note that is found in a time capsule 10 years after it was written by a 13 year old contains the names of 6 people. The predictions of the deaths of the 6 people on this note, randomly coincides with a string of murders that have recently occurred. As the initials on the note match the initials of some of the victims. The race is on to find the remaining people on the note before they end up dead as well.
As Detective Huldur and Freyja, a psychologist are paired up again. They are working together in order to solve the mystery surrounding the note and the connection if there is one, between the murder victims. Can they get to the bottom of any connection before another of the people mentioned on the note is murdered?
This story was rather graphic in parts due to the nature of the way in which the people had been murdered and is not for the faint hearted. If you don't mind a bit of gore, then this is the perfect read for you. It will keep you guessing and kept me engaged throughout.
