Strangers by C.L.Taylor

Strangers

From Goodreads

Ursula, Gareth and Alice have never met before.

Ursula thinks she killed the love of her life.
Gareth’s been receiving strange postcards.
And Alice is being stalked.

None of them are used to relying on others – but when the three strangers’ lives unexpectedly collide, there’s only one thing for it: they have to stick together. Otherwise, one of them will die.

Three strangers, two secrets, one terrifying evening.

The million copy bestseller returns with a gripping new novel that will keep you guessing right up to the end.

My thoughts

My thanks to the Author and Publishers for allowing me to take part in the Blog tour of this book and to Sabah Khan for organising it. My views are my own and I was sent a copy of the book to review.

I gave this a strong 4 stars or 8/10. I enjoyed the story and would recommend it to others. Whilst it's a psychological thriller predominantly, I did feel that at times it was erring on mild horror as part of the story in my opinion was making you feel quite tense and anxious, as one of the characters was quite menacing.

There's one thing for sure that you know, when you pick up one of C.L. Taylor's books you're going to be in for a great read. This one didn't fail to deliver on that front either. With a cast of quirky characters, this story had me hooked from the first few chapters. Told in short chapters it's a very addictive way to read as you just want to read that next chapter, to find out where the story is taking you.

As the different strands of the story take you from one direction to another, they do eventually start to knit together as the story reaches the climax.

This would make a great reading group read.

Excerpt

'I hate you. I hate you so much!'
Gareth raises his eyebrows. He'd never have got away with screaming at his Mum like that when he was a kid. He'd have suffered a swift clip round the head followed by, 'Wait till your father gets home.'

This reminded me so much of my Mum, she would act and say things similar to this when I was younger. However, when Dad got home nothing much ever happened.
