Return of the Magus (The Sacred Quest Trilogy 3) by Skarlet Lu Realta
From Goodreads
In the spectacular climax of this Supernatural magic thriller, when the Magus gives Louise her true name of Ahqulieah, the ancient magic of a name older than time is unleashed and with it, the astonishing alchemical plan born of a story they once wrote. It soon becomes apparent that every thread of their extraordinary journey has been a highly-engineered series of alchemical amulets and steps steeped in age-old temple magic designed for one end only: the joining together of two worlds through attainment of the highest form of magical adept. The staggering truth of who they really are is revealed together with the ceremonial blood magic that binds them. As the gates of times and mortality are dissolved, the two mightiest polarities of creation come face to face in a terrifying show down. The deadly ancient enemy finally reveals its shocking identity as Ahqulieah is faced with the devastating choice she must make in order to reunite with the man she has loved for eternity. Will magic triumph?
My thoughts
This is the final part of The Sacred Quest Trilogy and I must admit that it didn't end how I expected it to at all. I gave this a 4 stars or 8/10. I read this book in June/July 2018
I was lucky enough to be given a copy of this from the Author via TBConFB in return for an honest review. This is a very hard book to review in some ways as there are so many layers to it that it's hard to explain without giving parts of it away.
Louise becomes Ahquileah in this final part and it's revealed to her the links she's had with the Magus through history and time.
As the story takes on an out of world element and Ahquileah's existence and that of other characters begin to collide, the reader has to immerse themselves in an alternative world that for a lot won't come easy. All belief in normal life and what occurs in nature naturally is suspended completely as you're drawn into a magical supernatural world.
Grab a copy and let your mind take you away into another world where Ahquileah and her Magus might become one for life or not.
