I gave this a 7/10. I have to admit that I have read some of this series out of sync as I have already read and reviewed ~ The Duke of Andelot.
In this first story in the series we are introduced to Maybelle de Maitenon and Edmund Worthington aka the Duke of Rutherford. As Maybelle is attracted to Edmund, she learns of his scandalous past and sees him as the ideal man to strike up an illicit no strings attached affair. After their very public encounter, his Mother tells him that he must make an honest woman of Maybelle, but she has a mind of her own and spurns his offer.
Fate however has other plans for them both. As Maybelle's grandmother is taken ill, it's left to Maybelle to take over her grandmother's role in the School of Gallantry where gentleman are taught how to treat ladies and learn how to seduce them. As Edmund realises he has no other option than to enrol in the School, he pursues her relentlessly and it becomes apparent that it is down to Maybelle to teach him.
This is an erotic romance that will titillate the reader from time to time, the explicit passages are not gratuitous and add to the storyline rather well. I loved the relationship between Maybelle and Edward, I really wanted them to end up together as a couple.
If you're looking for an erotic romantic series to start reading then look no further, thoroughly recommended.
