Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy by E.L.James

I decided this year that I was going to reread some of my keeper books. With the first of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy film being released in time for Valentine's Day this year, it made sense to read the series again sooner rather than later.

Whilst the film has had mixed reviews and Jamie Dornan might not have been my first choice to play Christian Grey (I did think that Henry Cavill would have made a good Christian .... mmmm) I will be watching it at some point, but I might wait for the DVD to come out before I see it.

When I first read the books back in 2013, I gave them all 8/10 at the time. I read the books back to back then and did so again this time round and whilst I remembered the gist of the story, there were elements of all 3 books that I had forgotten. I must admit that I did enjoy them every bit as much on rereading them as I did first time round. Yes, there are some sexual/erotic passages in the books that may become a little repetitive, but there is also an enjoyable storyline in my opinion and I was drawn in to their lives. I still give them an 8/10 on rereading and will plan to read them all again in the future.

    Glad you enjoyed them Bernie. I reread them before the movie and again after because of how it ended (the movie) and enjoyed them. A lot of fans of thw books saying they liked the second one least but I felt thats where more of the story took shape. Especially Mrs Robinson. What dk you think?

      The second book is very instrumental to the story in my opinion, as you say we get to know more about Mrs Robinson and all that she was to Christian. She clearly had a huge influence on his life in more ways than one. However, I can see why people didn't enjoy it as much though.
