The One Plus One by Jojo Moyes

The One Plus One
From Goodreads.
One single mum.
One chaotic family.
One handsome stranger.
One unexpected love story.

My review

Thanks to NetGalley for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a modern day story featuring Jess, Nicky & Tanzie, . These three are members of a dysfunctional family unit with problems a plenty. Then we have Ed the male lead, a knight on a white charger so to speak who attempts to come to their rescue. We then have Norman the dog and in some ways I feel that he steals the story in more ways than one in my opinion.

The story is told from a different characters view every chapter and you get a feel for the whole story in this way. We find out how each character ticks and what problems they all face.

All five set off on the road trip from hell and when you read the story you'll find out what I mean.

Whilst I enjoyed this modern day story, it didn't blow me away. If I'm totally honest I prefer books by this Author set in less modern settings. Whilst it is well written I do feel that it could be any other book in this genre but I'm more than sure that fans of Jojo Moyes will be more than happy with it.

I gave this 4* (8/10).  The bad news is that you'll be waiting until Feb, 2014 for this to be released in hardback.
